Clifton Wayne Sparks (Sparky), 81 of Parrish, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Walker Baptist Medical Center.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 14, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with burial at Guthrie Cemetery.  James Allen Wright will officiate.

Papa was a pillar of strength & a beacon of love for his family. The ultimate provider, he spent 41 years of his life supporting his family as a dedicated Lead Lineman for Alabama Power Company, where those who loved him nicknamed him "Sparky". He was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. He was at his happiest out on a boat catching Crappie and Blue Cats. All who knew him loved him & his absence leaves a void in our hearts.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Linda Joan Thomas Sparks; parents, Elmer Robert Sparks and Dora Harris Sparks; brother, Elmer Lee Sparks; sister, Lois McGaughy ; grandparents, Robert Sparks & Emma Alexander Sparks, Samuel Harris & Millie Ann Tidwell Harris

He is survived by his children, Michael Wayne Sparks, Shelley Renee Cheatham (Chris), Kimberly Joan Franklin (Darrin), grandchildren Micah Franklin (Jordan), Abigail Franklin Boshell, Molly Cheatham Daniel (Trey); great grandchildren, Adelyn Rose Boshell, Cooper Wayne Daniel, Maggie Renee Daniel, Ilah Grace Franklin; sisters, Charlene Griggs, Linda Smith, Imogene Drake and a host of nieces and nephews.
