Don Edward Durham, 84, of Jasper, passed away at his residence on Sunday, March 10th, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver L. Durham and his wife, Linda G. Durham.

He is survived by his son, Troy Wheeler of Curry, 2 daughters, Tammy Dauzat (Dale) of Mansura, LA and Tracy Brown of Jasper, 1 sister, Glenda Groves (Bobby Nathan) of Jasper, 1 nephew, David Michael Groves (Jamie), 2 nieces, Angela Groves of Jasper, and Dr. Karen Avery (Gary) of Chelsea, AL, Four grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren.

Don grew up in Gorgas, AL and graduated from Martin High School. He worked and resided in Atlanta, GA for a short while, and upon returning to Jasper, was a long-time employee of the Daily Mountain Eagle. He enjoyed gardening and football throughout his retirement years.

Services for Mr. Durham will be held on Saturday, March 16th, 2024, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home in Jasper. Visitation for family will begin at 12:00 p.m., friends at 1:00 p.m., and services will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by a private burial at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Curry, Alabama.
