Jesse Paul King, age 82 of Jasper, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at his residence.

The family will receive friends on  Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel.  Burial will be Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.

Mr. King was preceded in death by his Parents-Jesse and Sarah King; Daughter-Vicki James; Grandson-PFC Sean McCune; Sister-Patricia Calahan; Brothers-Albert King, Lewis and Lamont Bittikofer.

He is survived by his Wife of 50 years-Norma June King; Son-Randy James (Alice); Daughters-Sandra Gibson (Sandy) and Paulette Haggard; Brother-Fred Bennykofer (Betty); 6 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; and a church family at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

He was employed at Courtesy Ford in Miami for 22 years, Liberty National Insurance and ITS as an adjustor until retirement.  He was a member at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where he was in charge of Building and Grounds for several years.  Volunteered with the Red Cross disaster team and Walker Baptist Medical Center in surgery waiting.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Building Fund.
