JoAnn Williams passed away on January 20, 2025.  She was born on January 22, 1932 in Jasper, AL to John and Pernie Williams.  She was the youngest of four children.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Jeff Chambless and Wayne Thomas will officiate.

She attended Florence State College for her undergraduate degree and received a Master's Degree from the University of Florida.  After obtaining the Master's Degree, she taught in the junior college system of Florida for six years.  She attended the University of Alabama, received her Ph.D. degree, and taught at the University of South Alabama for 27 years.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her Parents-John and Pernie; her Sisters-Allene and Christine; her Brother-Donald.

She leaves behind her Nephews-Jerry (Joann Ingle) of Jasper, John (Maria) of Jasper, Jim of Klamath Falls, OR and Niece-Donna Millican of Naperville, IL; and a Great Nephew-James Bradley Millican of Aurora, IL.
