Lee Vernon
Dunn
Jun 22, 1938 — Sep 30, 2025
Lee Vernon Dunn, 87, of Dora, Alabama, passed away quietly on September 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Later in life, he became affectionately known as "Papa" to his family, a role he cherished above all others. Born in Eldridge, on June 22, 1938, Lee was the son of Rex and Hattie Dunn. In 1962, Lee married Jo Ann Latham, and together they shared a life built on love, faith, and family. He will be remembered for his steady presence, warm heart, and gentle humor. He lived a long and full life marked by devotion to his family and church and quiet strength that inspired all who knew him. He was a dedicated employee of 30 years at Alabama Power where he worked until retirement.
He will be remembered for his enthusiasm for Alabama football, his love for good food and a clean car, his boundless generosity toward family and friends, and his devotion to his church. He and his family were members of Westwood Baptist for many years. After moving to Dora, he and JoAnn faithfully attended Bethel Baptist, until his health prevented him from doing so.
Lee is survived by his Wife of 62 years-Jo Ann; their two Children-Thomas Dunn (Leigh) and Melinda Foshee (Kevin); his Sister-Ann Kilgore (Dan); three beloved Grandchildren who were his pride and joy: Luke Dunn, Caleb (Makenzie) and Josh Foshee; three Great-grandchildren- Amelia, Bridger, and Colter Foshee; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, his Sister-Getha Cox (Edward) and Brother-Norman (Frances).
