Lewis Ray Bates

Lewis Ray Bates, age 92 of Carbon Hill, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at Princeton Baptist Medical Center.  

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, graveside services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Pocahontas Freewill Cemetery.  

Mr. Bates was preceded in death by his Father-Herbert Bates; Mother-Clara Bates; Son-in-law-Frank Shadinger; Sisters-Mary Myers, Linda Goodwin, Eulene Ramey and Nellie Ruth Self; Brother-Olan Bates.

He is survived by his Wife-Tommie Manasco Bates; Daughters-Tammy Bates Willingham (Rick) and Vickie Bates Shadinger; Son-Lewis Ray Bates, Jr. (Lizzie); Sister-Margie Bates Reece (Rick); Granddaughter-Cassidy Shadinger; Grandsons-Keith Willingham and Joshua Bates.

Pallbearers will be David Manasco, Brian Manasco, Mack Manasco, Darren King, Austin Busby and Zack Clough.
