Sue Odom Gillum

Sue Odom Gillum, age 72 of Jasper, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at UAB Hospital.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Boldo Cemetery. Alfred Hartley will officiate. 

Sue O. Gillum married James H. Gillum on March 6, 1971, after the two met at a carnival. Together, they moved to Chicago to build a better life for their family and later returned home after retirement to enjoy time with family and friends.

Sue is survived by her loving Husband-James; Daughters-Amy M. Ferguson (Michael) and Kelly J. Baffour (Erasmus); Granddaughters-Harleigh J. Budas and Mya T. Baffour; Grandsons-Mason J. Baffour, Greyson Cummings, and Jacob Cummings; Father-David T. Allred; Brothers-Bobby Odom, Keith Hood, and Noel Allred; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Glenda M. Allred.

Sue will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and all who knew her.
